Early Orientation Session



The Early Orientation Session immerses students in the culture and life of a Darlington student, preparing them well for their first day of school. Participants are exposed to the academic rigor found at Darlington during daily classroom activities with Darlington teachers. They will make friends, connect with mentors and begin to navigate their new surroundings on the school's 500-acre campus. Weekday activities allow students to pursue their passions or try an activity for the first time, while a variety of weekend trips create an unmatched experience.

Cost Includes:
Cost includes all transportation once participant arrives in Rome, Ga.; all meals; accommodations in an on-campus dormitory room at Darlington School; activities on and off campus; entry fees and program expenses; adult supervision at all times; and 24-hour security at Darlington School’s gated campus in Rome, Ga., USA. Cost does not include airfare or any additional personal expenses.

Early Orientation Session Highlights

Possible On-Campus Activities: Nature, robotics, sports, swimming, art and more.

Possible Off-Campus Activities: Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium, mall trip to Atlanta, bowling, laser tag and more.

About the director

Tara Inman joined Darlington School's student life team in 2002 and was named dean of students for global education in 2016. Previously, she held the roles of director of ESL, spiritual life coordinator and head of house. Tara holds a B.A. and an M.A.T., both from Carson-Newman College. She and her husband Brian, an Upper School history teacher, live on campus with their children, Maggie ('19), Davis, Wesley and Harrison.
